Open Position: Intermediate Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant

As an Intermediate Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant at HelloFinance, you will be crucial in maintaining efficient operations and delivering high-quality services to our clients. We seek a highly organized, self-starter, detail-oriented professional to join our team.

Position: Remote (within Canada. Preference will be given to individuals living in Ontario). Our office is in Waterloo, ON

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree or diploma in Accounting, Certification in Bookkeeping or a relevant combination of education and work experience

  • CPB certification designation or willingness to write the exam within six months of starting

  • 5+ years of Full Cycle Bookkeeping & Accounting work experience

  • 3+ years of experience with QuickBooks Online

  • 3+ years of experience with Xero

  • 3+ years of experience in Hubdoc and Dext

  • Excellent communication skills in emails and on the phone

  • Medium to High technology skills – comfortable using mobile apps, online software, and video conferencing

  • A positive and exciting personality - no stereotypical “boring” bookkeepers here

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Bonus items the ideal candidate possesses (but not a deal breaker)

  • QBO Pro Advisor Certification

  • Xero Certification

Responsibilities of the position:

  • Reviewing and Posting Expenses and Supplier Bills in Hubdoc & Dext

  • Reconciling Bank and Credit Card Accounts in QuickBooks Online

  • Full Cycle Bookkeeping

  • Assisting in yearned

  • Communicating with clients about missing info or questions

  • Sales tax remittances

  • WSIB remittances

  • Payroll Processing, Filing ROEs, T4 & T5 Slips

Salary & Hours:

To be negotiated. The hours are anywhere from 10 to 30+ a week, Monday through Friday, standard daytime business hours. This contract will start as part-time but could lead to full-time and salaried as business needs change.
